Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Gimonnet’s NV Oger Grand Cru Brut Blanc de Blancs is made from 100% Chardonnay cultivated in Oger, and is different from the Premier Crus from this house. It is very fresh and displays nut and almond flavors on the nose, whereas on the palate this is a dry and pure, Gimonnet-typically elegant and finesse-full, but also very powerful and mineral, very well-structured champagne that is really thrilling in its youthful austerity; it also seems quite rich and mature for its youth. ‘This is champagne for lobster not for oysters,’ says Didier Gimonnet. This Oger is based on the 2011 vintage and was disgorged in March 2015 with 6 grams per liter dosage.
