Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The superb 2007 Clos Damiana was produced with 60% Xarel.lo, 20% Macabeo and 20% Parellada from their own Clos Damiana vineyard in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia planted 60 years ago. It fermented and matured in chestnut barrels for one year before being aged in bottle for 156 months (13 years!) and sold without dosage as a Brut Nature and Gran Reserva. It showcases the house style that is a subtle balance between oxidation, acidity and bubbles, all very elegant and integrated. It has a bright golden color and an expressive, nuanced and complex nose with textbook aromas of yeasts, smoke, bread dough, beeswax and honey. It has a seamless texture, where the bubbles are tiny, the flavors are subtle and elegant and they last for a long time. Elegance. 4,241 bottles produced. It was disgorged in January 2022.
