Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
From a parcel in the Pfersigberg adjacent to that in the Eichberg, the 2011 Gewurztraminer Vendange Tardive opens with very clear, ripe fruit and floral aromas on the nose that are traditionally connected with Gewurztraminer such as rose petals, lychee and some herbal/minty flavors. Piquant, firm and elegant on the palate, this full-bodied, clear and tension-filled wine reveals a very distinctive and authentic fruit flavor that is by no means placative. The finish is piquant and grippy, and the discreet sweetness is already very well integrated. Drink this wine over the next 15 years.
