Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 1983 Gewurztraminer Selection de Grains Nobles, recently re-released in honor of the upcoming change of millennium, has a gold color and aromas of candied peaches, apricots, and roasted coffee. It is a refined wine, with outstanding precision and definition. Medium-bodied and mouth-coating, it offers flavors reminiscent of toasted red cherries, nuts, and assorted yellow fruits. Its slightly alcoholic finish prevented it from obtaining a more exalted review. This wine needs to be consumed over the next 4-5 years.
