The NV L’O de L’Origan Brut Nature (Magnum) is a multi-vintage blend of 40% Macabeo from 2004 and 2000, 30% Xarello from 2004, 20% barrel-fermented Chardonnay from 2002, and 10% Parellada from 2004. This is the only wine in magnum released so far. The wine had a second fermentation in bottle (well, in magnum, obviously) where it aged in contact with the lees for over eight years providing it with a deep golden color and a complex nose of pollen, beeswax, honey, ash, Mediterranean herbs (faint Chartreuse?), with great complexity and balance. The palate is seamless, with ultra-integrated bubbles, pungent, persistent flavors, and great length. A great magnum of Cava, a great wine, and a superb beautiful big bottle to gate-crash any party. Drink now-2018.
