Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Due to frost and hail, the 2016 Rosé is an assemblage of ‘Winifred’ and ‘Josephine’ and, thus, is based on old-vine Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and Rösler from gravelly and shallow limestone soils in partly very warm vineyards. Pressed very quickly, this wine has a rather light purple color and opens with a delicate, filigreed and still reductive bouquet. On the palate, this is a charmingly round, soft and elegant wine with a beautiful juiciness but also fine tannins. The finish is harmonious but pure and mineral, very subtle and, yes, charming and stimulating in its salinity. Bottled in autumn 2017. Gorgeous! Tasted August 2018.
