Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2009 Sul Q is a ‘sélections des grains nobles’ of old Jura varieties (I suspect many not approved by the appellation…) harvested the 4th of December – but that’s not a style recognized in the Jura and therefore it’s sold as a generic Vin de France. The nose has the textbook aromas of botrytis, lanolin, dried apricots and honeycomb, with some volatile hints. Compared with the other sweet wine, the Suyquiême, which is much older from 2002, this has a much darker brass color and a more advanced and complex nose developing spicy notes and aromas of tarte tatin. It has some 250 grams of residual sugar and 11% alcohol nicely compensated by high acidity.
