Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Bedel’s current NV Dis, ‘Vin Secret’ Extra-Brut is a blend of 95% Meunier and 5% Chardonnay fermented and aged in enameled tanks and 20% oak of different ages for eight months. Mainly based on 2006, bottled in May 2007 and disgorged after almost eight years on the lees in February 2015, the wine was finished with a dosage of 1.25 grams. This intensely golden colored cuvée opens with a deep and intense, very rich and matured, yet also pure bouquet of very ripe yellow-fleshed fruits and matured apples, with a hint of caramel. Full-bodied, mouth-filling and complex, with nutty flavors on the palate, this is a rich yet stunningly clear and fresh Extra-Brut. It is currently also a bit austere, with a nicely salinity in the finish. (Lot DX060415)
