Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The young and usually fruit-driven A Priori showed aromas that seemed older than 2013. With some balsamic, yeasty and reductive aromas plus a darker, more golden color than other wines form this vintage show, this multi-grape blend of Macabeo, Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Moscatel matured in bottle for 18 months before being disgorged and adjusted to 7.5 grams of sugar. It’s very balsamic, yeasty and has the telltale notes of camphor, showing more evolved character than it should. I’m almost sure this is an older bottle that shows even the younger wine can have a nice evolution after disgorgement. 20,000 bottles produced.
