Description
Bérêche Campania Remensis is a sublime expression of tradition and innovation in champagne making. Produced on an area of 0.71 ha, this wine comes from vineyards with an average age of 40 years. These vineyards are located at an altitude of 109 m with a 5% slope, located in the Petite Montagne de Reims, specifically in Ormes «Les Montées». The soil in which these grapes grow is light, with fine silts and fairly deep sands, which gives the wine its unique characteristics.
Winemaking
Bérêche Campania Remensis is an assemblage of 60% Pinot noir, 30% Chardonnay, 5% Meunier and 5% Coteaux Champenois Rouge. This champagne is meticulously and traditionally crafted. It undergoes a slow fermentation in oak barrels, followed by ageing on the lees. It then spends more than 36 months in the cellar in rhyme, and the mousse is made with natural cork. Its final dosage is 3.5 g/L, which gives it an Extra Brut character.
Taste
This is a champagne that has been praised by wine experts from all over the world. William Kelley of the Wine Advocate describes it as offering enticing aromas of raspberries, peach and orange oil. It is medium to full-bodied, lively and expressive, with a chalky touch underlying its generous core of fruit, making it bright and charming. Antonio Galloni praises it as a beautiful, graceful and ethereal wine, while Bernard Burtschy highlights its aromas marked by strawberry and floral notes, with a very airy palate and a graceful touch.
